The easiest way to access free help finding a job is to simply visit your local Workforce Connection Center. If you live in the Milwaukee area, you can also access our services at the Milwaukee Public Libary Central Library branch, and at the Wauwatosa, West Allis and Greenfield public libraries. You do not need an appointment. If you have never visited a Workforce Connection Center, we will take time to get to know you and to understand your situation, then explain everything we can do to help you find a job. Whether you need help finding jobs, applying for jobs, updating or writing a resume, or preparing for an interview, we can help you take the steps you need to achieve your goals.

Yes! Goodwill Workforce Connection Centers offer coaching and guidance to help you write your resume. Our experts can help you explain your work history, any gaps you might have in your resume, and show you how to format your resume so that it can be more easily submitted online. With the help of our Workforce Connection Center team, you’ll be able to write a resume that truly shines.

We won’t write your résumé for you, because our goal is to help you build the skills you need to succeed—not just today, but in every interview you’ll have. When you write it yourself, you’ll know your story inside and out. And we’ve got your back. We’ll walk with you through every step of the writing process, so you feel supported, prepared, and confident.

Yes! We offer interview preparation both in person and remotely. We’ll review your résumé and the job you’re applying for, then walk you through a mock interview with questions you’re likely to hear.

You’ll get practical tips on how to answer confidently, plus time to practice your responses. If you’re getting interviews but not landing offers, this coaching can make a big difference.

Our services are available to anyone over the age of 16. Whether you’re applying for your first job, returning to work after some time off, re-entering the community after incarceration, or looking for a fresh start in a new career, we can help you overcome challenges and find a job that meets your needs.

Yes! Our team has been trained to help you figure out what job you want and help you understand how to get a job. We will take the time to get to know you, ask you questions that can help you think about your life and your goals, then connect you to a wide variety of resources to help you.

Yes. We help everyone, from high school students who might have no work experience to people returning to workforce after time off to care for children or parents. Yes! We can show you how to review the list of open jobs at Goodwill and guide you through the application process. We can also help connect you to jobs offered by Goodwill TalentBridge.

Yes. We hold both large job fairs at public libraries and smaller recruitment events at our Workforce Connection Centers. Job Fairs are large events featuring 8 or more employers. Recruitment events usually offer you the opportunity to meet with one or two employers. Some of the employers we host offer on-the-spot interviews; others simply accept applications and talk with you about the jobs available at their company. You do not need to register in advance for these events. You can learn about upcoming recruitment events by following the Facebook page for your local Workforce Connection Center or on the events page of our website.

You don’t need fancy clothes to visit us. Just wear something clean and comfortable that you’d feel okay wearing to your future job. We also encourage basic grooming so you can make a strong first impression. Things like wearing clean clothes and avoiding strong odors can help you feel confident and ready to take on your goals.

We do not have childcare available. But we get it—finding childcare isn’t always easy, and we don’t want that to stop you from getting help. If you have no other options, you can bring your kids with you to the center.

Please keep them with you and make sure they’re not running around, using computers, or disrupting other guests. This helps keep the space safe, calm, and focused for everyone.
