Fostering Neighborhood Health and Wellbeing
We are focused on removing barriers by providing resources that create healthier, safer communities.
Strengthening Communities Through Volunteerism
Our employee volunteer program, Acts of Goodwill, is one way we mobilize employee engagement to improve neighborhood health and safety. Through volunteer efforts and local partnerships across greater Milwaukee and Chicago, we address immediate community needs and work towards long-term improvements in the areas where we are located.
Goodwill Cares Community Assistance Vouchers
The Goodwill Cares Community Assistance program provides a “hand up” to support individuals with emergency needs during trying times. We provide vouchers to community partner organizations who distribute them to people with immediate needs. These vouchers allow recipients living in our service area to shop at Goodwill Store and Donation Centers after unexpected challenges such as a home fire, recovering from homelessness or bouncing back after losing a job. The voucher recipients can select items which they believe will best help them get back on their feet. No restrictions are placed on the types of goods that may be purchased with the voucher.
Localizing Services in Kenosha County
Goodwill provides intervention, community education, outreach and program support for multiple programs and projects that are part of Kenosha County’s Division of Aging & Disability Services. We offer:
- Adult Protective Services: Supporting at-risk physically disabled and elderly people with investigations and assessments, connections to services, and when needed – court referrals and follow ups.
- Comprehensive Community Services: Serving children and adults who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis. We provide outreach, assessment, service planning, and program participation.
- Community Outreach Services: Providing networking and education to Kenosha County’s older adults (60+), adults with disabilities, their caregivers and families to support awareness of available community resources and ways to access the support they need.
- Volunteer Guardian Service: Ensures qualified guardians support incompetent elderly or disabled adults. Goodwill provides guardians who have the necessary training to successfully and competently support vulnerable community members.
Connecting people to work. Preparing people for life.
