About Goodwill

We enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people connect to valuable employment and community resources. We are bound together by our passion for our mission and wanting to make a difference in our communities. When you choose to do business with us or donate to Goodwill, you are supporting the success of the people in our local community.

Do Business With Us

Partnering with Goodwill is a win-win-win for your business, job seekers and your community.

Shop our Stores

Our store and donation centers provide jobs, keep goods out of landfills and help fund our training programs.

Support our Mission

Your financial and item donations support job training and placement opportunities in your community.

Our programs connect job seekers to skill building and employment support training and services. These programs and services are funded in three ways.

  1. We carefully manage your generous financial donations.
  2. We run businesses and use the profits these businesses generate to help fund our programs. Our businesses include retail store and donation centers and Goodwill TalentBridge, a full-service staffing and recruiting company.
  3. Through a contract with the U.S. Navy, we provide services to the Sailors and recruits at Naval Station Great Lakes, the Navy’s only boot camp.

Our Mission

Connecting people to work. Preparing people for life.

Our Vision

Transforming lives and communities through The Power of Work.

Serving Others Since 1919

Goodwill Industries began in Boston at the turn of the 19th century as an idea by the Rev. Edgar J. Helms. The idea was simple, fight poverty not with charity, but with trade skills – and provide a chance for the poor and the unemployed to do productive work. With Helms as the driving force, Goodwill spread throughout the United States and by October 1919, that movement began in Milwaukee.

For more than 100 years we have continued to evolve the services and support we provide as we respond to the ever-changing needs of our community.

Be dissatisfied with your work until every person in your community has an opportunity to develop to their fullest usefulness and enjoy a maximum of abundant living.
