Antonio | Getting Help Finding a Job at the Workforce Connection Center
How a Job Opportunity at Goodwill Helped Antonio go Back to School
Goodwill is all about helping people find their footing to build a brighter future. For Antonio Gardner, that journey started at Goodwill’s Workforce Connection Center (WCC). After overcoming challenges, Antonio found a fresh start and new opportunities that helped him build stability and success.
A Fresh Start with Workforce Support
When Antonio was searching for stability, the WCC became a lifeline. “I was at a tough spot, and finding work was critical,” Antonio recalls. Thanks to the WCC, he received help with resume building, interview prep and job placement, setting him up for success. The team at Goodwill, including people like Armond Henderson, were dedicated to helping Antonio rebuild and find his path forward. “They’re genuinely committed to helping us succeed, no matter where we come from,” he says.
Embracing Growth and Pursuing Dreams
With Goodwill’s support, Antonio landed a job as a donation attendant and began training for a retail support role. But he didn’t stop there. He went back to school and even made the Dean’s List! “Returning to school was something I knew I needed to do,” he shares. “I’m proud of making the Dean’s List, and I’m motivated to keep pushing forward.”
Looking Ahead to a Bright Future
Antonio’s goals are big: financial stability, finishing his business degree, and honoring his late mother’s wish to see him graduate. With help from Goodwill he’s making those dreams a reality. “I want to be in a place where I can give back. Goodwill’s support has helped me get this far, and I’m excited about what’s next,” he says.
Antonio’s story shows what Goodwill is all about—providing resources, encouragement and a community to help people build new lives. With Goodwill’s programs, Antonio and others like him are finding new paths, achieving their goals and transforming their futures.
