Providing Support for our Chicago Neighbors

This summer’s Community Days included two impactful events in the Chicago suburbs. Both events were focused on ensuring under-resourced communities have food and other essential items.
Our first event featured 22 Goodwill employees put together hygiene kits for the Ray Graham Association (RGA) - a nonprofit that provides a loving community, stability, and personal care for people with disabilities. Volunteers packed kits with toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, soap, and lotion. During the one-hour event, 250 hygiene kits were packed.
Six Goodwill employees then volunteered with the Christian Life Center (CLC) Food Pantry to assist 138 families. Volunteers worked with church employees to manage weekly food distribution for local families. Tasks included greeting families, handing out boxes to collect food items, managing the pantry line and sorting and packing a variety of food, including fruits and vegetables, meat, and canned goods.
These Acts of Goodwill help us make an impact, build relationships and support partner organizations in our communities.
