Our client, a global water technology provider located in Illinois had a small internal HR team. The company turned to Goodwill TalentBridge when they needed help with industrial staffing to quickly fill manufacturing jobs. TalentBridge‘s Metro Chicago team successfully supported urgent recruitment needs through two Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) projects.
Project 1: Supporting surge staffing to meet product demand
The Situation
Demand for the company’s products had grown, and they were struggling to get products assembled and out the door fast enough to meet the needs of its many customers. To improve customer service, the company wanted to fill 40 union positions that were divided between first and second shift as quickly as possible.
The Solution
To ensure a seamless process, the TalentBridge team met with both HR and the department leaders who would be supervising the new employees. This allowed us to develop a comprehensive hiring matrix. Our matrix ensured candidates were closely matched to the job success requirements.
We then hosted two hiring events that featured a pre-screen interview and a “walking interview.” Candidates who passed the pre-screen were taken on a tour of the manufacturing floor. Tours were conducted by their potential future supervisors, who then provided TalentBridge with immediate feedback. Candidates who met all the qualifications for open manufacturing positions were then given immediate job offers. Those who accepted started their new hire paperwork right away, ensuring candidates were not “lost” to other local employers.
The Results
- 2,258 candidates reached
- 1,118 incoming applicants
- 158 candidates interviewed by TalentBridge
- 78 candidates submitted to the company
- 66 interviews with the company
- 38 offers extended
- 31 offers accepted
Project 2: Improving time to hire with volume recruiting
The Situation
A couple of months later, the company needed to recruit at volume once again. With only one month to hire 10 Inventory roles, they turned to TalentBridge for another side-by-side RPO project hoping we could replicate the success of our previous project.
The Solution
To increase the capacity of the internal HR team, TalentBridge recruiters worked side-by-side through a consultative RPO process. This allowed the TalentBridge recruiters to seamlessly support the company’s talent acquisition efforts, which greatly increased the company’s ability to recruit and screen quality candidates.
The Results
Once again, on-site open houses with candidate interview coordination were handled by the TalentBridge team. We were able to achieve significant results:
- 66 candidates reached
- 36 candidates submitted to the company
- 10 onsite interviews schedule
- 8 offers extended and accepted
