Goodwill Awards $100,000 In Scholarships To Students In Greater Milwaukee and Chicago

Goodwill’s Community Scholarship Program has awarded 20 scholarships to help children and dependents of Goodwill employees and community members pursue their education during the 2026–2027 school year.

The 2026 scholarship recipients represent 16 communities across Greater Milwaukee and Chicago, supporting the next generation of healthcare and technology professionals, accountants, scientists, engineers, lawyers, veterinarians, and changemakers.

“Because of Goodwill’s support, I can stay focused on my education without the constant weight of financial worry or stress,” shares Giselle, a freshman and dependent of a Goodwill retail production associate who aspires to become a child life specialist.

“As a first-generation college student, higher education has come with both incredible opportunities and significant financial responsibilities. This scholarship will help relieve some of the financial stress that often comes with balancing tuition, educational expenses, and everyday costs. Knowing that I have this support allows me to focus more fully on my education,” says Alexandra, a sophomore pursuing a career in nursing.

Since launching in 2024, the program has awarded $250,000 in scholarships to 50 students to help with the cost of continuing education—many of them first-generation college students.

“Through our scholarship program, we aim to empower people to pursue their educational goals, reflecting our commitment to fostering economic growth and opportunity through workforce development within the communities we serve,” said Clayton Pryor, Chief Mission Officer at Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago. “We’re proud of these recipients and honored to play a role in helping to open doors to college, career training and brighter futures.”
