As Goodwill continues to grow across the greater Milwaukee and Chicago regions, the organization remains focused on strengthening its operational excellence, supporting innovation, and advancing best practices that safeguard its mission: Connecting people to work. Preparing people for life.

To further support those priorities, Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago has announced that Nicol Britten will lead its people, culture and compliance practices as chief people and compliance officer.

Since joining Goodwill in 2015, Nicol has consistently demonstrated strong leadership—particularly through periods of change and challenge—while helping guide the organization toward renewed growth. Over her 10-year tenure, Nicol has led key human resources functions including talent management, HR operations, and HR business partnership. She later advanced into leadership roles as vice president of human resources and, most recently, senior vice president of people and culture.

Nicol’s background in compliance, combined with her longstanding commitment to Goodwill’s mission and deep support for its retail operations, uniquely positions her to lead this integrated function.

“Nicol is a trusted voice across our organization with both our leadership team and our broader employee community,” said President and CEO Jackie Hallberg. “As we continue to focus on the growth of our mission, businesses and employees, this leadership appointment and organizational enhancements position us to do so with confidence, clarity and care.”

Nicol will also continue to lead Goodwill’s human resources team as they deepen the organization’s people-centered strategy—focused on delivering an employee experience that makes Goodwill a great place to work.
