Shop and Donate At Goodwill To Support Local Workforce Development Programs
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago today announced the opening of its new Goodwill Store & Donation Center located at 7770 S. Cicero Ave. in Burbank, Illinois.
Goodwill is a leading workforce development nonprofit that provides training, employment and supportive services across 23 counties within southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago. Revenue generated by Goodwill Store & Donation Center purchases and donations directly supports workforce development programs and services to help people with disabilities or barriers to work to build skills and find employment in their local communities.
“Goodwill is strategically expanding our retail footprint within metropolitan Chicago to meet growing demand for affordable shopping options and to deepen our local impact,” said Skip Dexter, chief retail officer at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago. “When you shop at or donate to Goodwill, you’re helping improve the lives of individuals through the power of work, and when individuals are empowered, families and communities are strengthened, too.”
The Goodwill Retail Experience
The new 8,600-square-foot facility features a modern, welcoming design with wood grain, brass fixtures and a warm color palette. This new look and feel is part of a multi-year rollout across all Goodwill Store & Donation Centers in southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago that includes interior refreshes, additional storage bins to keep donations safe and protected, and parking lot maintenance.
“We invite the Burbank community to stop by to enjoy an exceptional shopping and donating experience where they’ll find a wide range of donated items stocked daily to browse and purchase at affordable prices,” said Dexter. “We look forward to meeting our neighbors and demonstrating the heart of Goodwill within our new community.”
Visit or donate to the Burbank Store & Donation Center during normal business hours of Monday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Goodwill runs a robust retail operation of store and donation centers, two Outlet locations in Milwaukee and Sturtevant, Wisconsin that offer consumers a unique thrifting concept with most items priced by the pound, and is a member of GoodwillFinds, an online resale marketplace featuring items from Goodwill locations from around the country.
Conscious Shopping
Goodwill is focused on environmental sustainability, diverting over 150 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfills in 2021 with the help of local shoppers and donors.
“Shopping at Goodwill Store & Donation Centers offers consumers a sustainable way to give items a second life while giving back to their local communities – it’s shopping with a purpose,” said Dexter. “Stop into our new store in Burbank to discover what thrifted treasures await.”
