OFFICIAL RULES

CONTEST PERIOD. Goodwill Thrift Studio presents: Thrifted Ever After: The Wedding Giveaway (“Contest”) takes place between March 23, 2026 – April 5, 2026. 

SPONSOR. The Contest is sponsored by Goodwill Retail Services Inc. (the “Goodwill”) with its principal place of business at 6055 N. 91st Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53225. 

CONTEST DESCRIPTION

The Goodwill Thrift Studio presents: Thrifted Ever After: The Wedding Giveaway contest is a wedding story contest open to couples who live in Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago’s 23 county territory who will be getting married in 2026.

  1. Entry and voting period: March 23, 2026 – April 5, 2026.
  2. Entrants will apply for the opportunity to participate in the contest. 
  3. During the Entry Period, eligible entries will be displayed at https://bit.ly/ThriftedEverAfter  for public voting.
    • Contestants will compete to get votes for their entry.
    • Contestants may use the Bit.ly link provided during entry to promote voting.
    • Contestants may tag @goodwillgreatermc when promoting voting.
  4. At the end of the Voting Period, winners will be selected by a panel of Goodwill judges,  based upon a combination of the following criteria:
    • Compliance with contest entry requirements;
    • Overall quality of presentation;
    • Number of votes received;
  5. The Panel will select a pool of three (3) finalists, from which one (1) grand prize and two (2) runner up prizes will be awarded.
  6. Finalists will be contacted using the e-mail provided upon entry on 4/15/26 and must respond to confirm by 5:00 p.m. CST on 4/17/2026.
  7. Finalists must complete and return any required documentation (e.g., Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release, or other) within (2) two business days, or prize may be forfeited. If a potential winner is ineligible, unreachable, or fails to timely respond, Goodwill may select an alternate.
  8. All panel decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the Goodwill judging panel.

Method of Entry

  1. During the Promotion Period, visit the contest landing page at https://bit.ly/ThriftedEverAfter  and follow the instructions to (a) complete required fields and (b) upload one (1) photo that meets the Submission Requirements below.
  2. LIMIT: One (1) entry per couple.
  3. Entries must be received during the Promotion Period.
  4. No purchase necessary.

CONTEST RULES

  • Couples must be planning a wedding with a set date between March 23, 2026 – December 31, 2026.
  • At least one member of the couple must reside in Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago’s 23 county territory.
  • Your entry must be your original story; Entrants must represent and warrant that: (i) Entrant created the Entry Materials or otherwise has all rights necessary to grant the license described herein; (ii) the Entry Materials do not infringe any third-party rights (including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights); and (iii) each person (other than Entrant) who appears in the Entry Materials has given Entrant permission to submit the Entry Materials and to grant Goodwill the rights described herein, and Entrant will provide written releases upon request.
  • For contest related in-person experiences, you must provide your own transportation to in-person experiences. Experiences will be scheduled at the convenience of Goodwill partners, and will take place in the greater Chicago area. No other compensation for such experiences will be provided. In-person experiences will be recorded (i.e. photography or videography) for social media purposes.
  • Entries must not be unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable. Goodwill may disqualify entries that do not comply.

CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to residents 18 years or older in Wisconsin Counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Fond du Lac, Rock, Dodge, Walworth, Washington, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Green Lake, Jefferson, Racine & Kenosha; and Illinois Counties: Lake, DuPage, Cook, Kane, Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford, Vermilion, Kendall & Will.
  • Employees, officers, directors, contractors, and agents of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. or its subsidiaries and their immediate family/household members are not eligible.
  • One entry per contestant couple.

CONTEST PRIZE

Grand prize winner and runner-up finalists will be contacted on April 15, 2025, using the e-mail provided upon entry. Goodwill is not responsible for invalid entries due to key entry errors, server delivery issues or entrant non-response.

Grand prize: The winning entry will receive:

  • One $200 Goodwill Gift card, redeemable at any Goodwill Retail Services, Inc. store located in the following counties - Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Fond du Lac, Rock, Dodge, Walworth, Washington, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Green Lake, Jefferson, Racine & Kenosha; and Illinois: Lake, DuPage, Cook, Kane, Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford, Vermilion, Kendall & Will.
  • Live in-person shopping experiences, one each with Goodwill partner Jennifer Mason (@jenrestylefashion) and Michele Strauts (@craftingculture). Experiences will take place in the Chicago area on a mutually agreed-upon date. Winner must provide their own transportation to in-person experiences. No other compensation for such experiences will be provided. In-person experiences will be recorded (i.e. photography or videography) for social media purposes.

Runner-up prizes: Each of the two (2) runner-up finalists will receive a $100 Goodwill Gift card, redeemable at any Goodwill Retail Services, Inc. store located in the following counties - Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Fond du Lac, Rock, Dodge, Walworth, Washington, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Green Lake, Jefferson, Racine & Kenosha; and Illinois: Lake, DuPage, Cook, Kane, Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford, Vermilion, Kendall & Will.

Goodwill gift cards are only valid at participating Goodwill Retail Services, Inc. store and donation centers in greater Milwaukee and Chicago located in Wisconsin Counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Fond du Lac, Rock, Dodge, Walworth, Washington, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Green Lake, Jefferson, Racine & Kenosha; and Illinois Counties: Lake, DuPage, Cook, Kane, Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford, Vermilion, Kendall & Will. This Contest prize is not valid at Goodwill Outlet Stores in Wisconsin or Illinois, or online at ShopGoodwill.com. in Goodwill Retail Services, Inc.’s Amazon Store, or E-bay store. Void where prohibited by law. All applicable federal, state, and local laws apply.

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. By participating in the contest, each participant accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these terms and conditions and the decisions of the Goodwill, which shall be final and binding in all respects. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these Official Terms and Conditions and any advertisement, promotional or marketing materials, or other announcements relating to the Contest, these Official Terms and Conditions govern. Goodwill reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest at any time. Goodwill may amend these Official Terms and Conditions by posting such amended Terms and Conditions on www.goodwillgreatermc.org.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY/DISCLAIMERS: BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ALL PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO FOREVER WAIVE, RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE GOODWILL, AS WELL AS GOODWILL’S OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, ATTORNEYS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, SHAREHOLDERS, CONTRACTORS, SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND INSURERS (COLLECTIVELY “RELEASED PARTIES”) FOR AND FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEBTS, LIABILITIES, DEMANDS, OBLIGATIONS, COSTS, FEES, EXPENSES, ACTIONS, CAUSES OF ACTION WHATSOEVER, OF EVERY NATURE, CHARACTER AND DESCRIPTION (COLLECTIVE, “CLAIMS”), KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ALL THOSE ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THIS CONTEST; THESE OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS; ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION; THE NEGLIGENCE OF ANY OF THE RELEASED PARTIES; THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF ANY GIFT WITH PURCHASE; AND ANY PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST. BY PARTICIPATING, PARTICIPANT REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS THAT HE OR SHE OWNS AND/OR HAS THE AUTHORITY TO RELEASE THE CLAIMS STATED HEREIN. FURTHER, BY PARTICIPATING OR ACCEPTING THE CONTEST PRIZE ALL PARTICIPANTS EXPRESSLY AGREE TO AT ALL TIMES DEFEND, HOLD HARMLESS, AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ALL CLAIMS OF ANY KIND OR NATURE WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES AND DISBURSEMENTS) ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THIS CONTEST; THESE OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS; PARTICIPANTS QUALIFYING; THE NEGLIGENCE OF ANY OF THE RELEASED PARTIES; THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF ANY CONTEST PRIZE; AND ANY PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST.

PUBLICITY RELEASE: By participating in this Contest, each participant irrevocably grants the Released Parties the right to use each such participant’s name, photograph, image, video, biographical information, in any and all media for any purpose, including, without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes and each entrant hereby releases the Released Parties from any liability with respect thereto, except where prohibited.

GOVERNING LAW. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these offer terms and conditions or the rights and obligations of the participants, Goodwill or released parties in connection with the Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other state’s laws.

ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMERS. If this Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including, without limitation, because of a printing error, human error, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or other cause which corrupt or threaten to corrupt or adversely affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Goodwill reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend this Contest, including awarding Goodwill Perks Plus Loyalty points with purchase from in store registrations or online submissions received prior to the time of the cancellation, modification or suspension. All participants, as a condition of entry, agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Terms and Conditions and the decisions of Goodwill. Failure to comply with these Official Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from this Contest. Goodwill reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has violated these Official Terms and Conditions. Participants further agree to not knowingly damage or cause interruption of this Contest. Any person who supplies false information, obtains the contest prize by fraudulent means, or is otherwise determined to be in violation of these official terms and conditions in an attempt to obtain any Contest prize will forfeit any gift with purchase and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
