Our client partner has IMMEDIATE needs for a wide range of Transmission Production Associates to work at their northside location in Milwaukee, WI.

These roles are FIRST SHIFT (6am-230pm) / DIRECT HIRE opportunities!!
Pay Range:  $19.90 - $24.00

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking dependable, mechanically inclined individuals to join our client’s transmission remanufacturing production team.  In this position, you may inspect and clean transmission components, build subassemblies, prepare parts for production, assemble transmissions, perform quality checks, or operate testing equipment.

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, the ability to follow work instructions, and a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable transmission.  Team members work together to maintain a steady production flow, meet daily goals, and ensure every component and completed unit meets company standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Depending on your skills, experience, and production needs, our responsibilities may include:
  • Inspect parts and transmission components for cleanliness, condition, defects, and proper fit.
  • Clean components and prepare parts for assembly or production.
  • Build transmission subassemblies and place completed components on builder trays.
  • Organize parts and trays while maintaining one-piece flow to prevent job numbers from being mixed.
  • Assemble transmissions by following detailed instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Verify serial numbers, job numbers, build sheets, parts, and completed assemblies.
  • Perform quality checks and complete required production or builder documentation.
  • Use computer-based production systems, including VKS, to follow instructions, track work, scan serial numbers, and confirm that units meet company standards.
  • Operate dynamometer testing equipment when trained and assigned.
  • Monitor transmission testing data and identify normal versus abnormal noises.
  • Prepare units for testing, including installing and removing hoses and using an overhead crane when trained and authorized.
  • Pass or fail tested units based on inspection results and testing data.
  • Help maintain an efficient and consistent production workflow.
  • Report quality, equipment, parts, or production issues to leadership.
  • Assist coworkers and help train new team members when needed.
  • Follow safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform basic cleaning throughout the workday, including removing debris, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and suggest ways to improve quality, safety, or efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Automotive, mechanical, transmission assembly, manufacturing, or dynamometer experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with your hands, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read work instructions, specifications, measurements, graphs, and parts lists.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn production software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good time-management, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to work around dirt, grime, oils, chemicals, and transmission components.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for eight or more hours per day
  • Ability to perform repetitive, hands-on assembly, inspection, and material-handling tasks.
  • Ability to work in a production environment and perform duties under pressure when necessary.
