What You'll Do 

As an Assistant Food Service Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring daily operations run efficiently while supporting, coaching, and developing large teams in a high-volume food service environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead daily food service operations and prepare work assignments

  • Supervise, train, and develop teams of 20-100 employees

  • Conduct operational inspections before, during, and after meal service

  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to contractual and quality standards

  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

  • Monitor dining facilities, kitchens, equipment, and service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members

  • Complete operational reports, documentation, and departmental records

  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives

  • Analyze data, track performance metrics, and support departmental goals

  • Foster a positive, productive, and accountable team culture 

What We're Looking For 

Required Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or management experience within a food service environment

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate large teams

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume operation

  • Valid driver's license

  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain and maintain certification)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience overseeing large-scale food service or dining operations

  • Strong attention to quality, safety, and operational excellence

  • Ability to adapt quickly and make effective decisions in a dynamic environment

  • Passion for developing employees and building strong teams
