Training is provided in DuPage County, Kane County and Will County, Illinois.

Careers in green energy offer a wide range of opportunities. Goodwill’s clean energy training programs help ensure that everyone—especially those from historically underserved communities—can access these valuable career paths.

Clean Energy Training Programs & Support Services

  • Clean Jobs Workforce Network Program: Provides clean jobs training and a career pipeline through 13 workforce hubs across Illinois.
  • Illinois Climate Works Pre-apprenticeship Program: Prepares individuals for careers in clean energy, construction and building trades.
  • Energy Transition Barrier Reduction Program: Offers support services like tools, mentoring, travel stipends, work clothes, certifications and childcare.
  • Clean Energy Contractor Incubator Program: Provides training, mentorship and business planning for clean energy businesses through 13 regional contractor incubators.
  • Clean Energy Prime Contractor Accelerator Program: Mentoring and capacity building for contractors working on large-scale clean energy projects.
  • Support Services: Program participants can receive services including bus cards, gas cards, training stipend, childcare assistance or mental health counseling.
