Support for Your New Job
Finding a job is just the first step. Our employment support services help you thrive in your new role. Whether you are looking for coaching, training or specific workplace accommodations, we are committed to assisting you every step of the way.
For People with Disabilities
Our Supported Employment programs provide individuals with disabilities or other barriers the support they need to succeed in the workplace. By providing job coaching and advocating with employers for workplace accommodations, we ensure your work environment is set up for your success.
At Goodwill Great Lakes, our AbilityOne participants receive ongoing support, including on-site ASL interpreters for our deaf and hard-of-hearing employees.
Our benefits counselors help people receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) understand how employment will impact their Social Security benefits. We can help clarify eligibility criteria, explain how to access work incentive programs and confirm qualifications for federal, state and county programs like FoodShare or Medicaid. Our benefits specialists are also able to assist you with developing a PASS (Plan for Achieving Self-Support) with Social Security and provide benefits counseling for self-employment.
Building skills through work experience

For People Overcoming Addiction or Mental Health Challenges
Our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program connects individuals overcoming addiction or living with mental health disorders to jobs in their areas of interest. Our specialized assistance and on-the-job support continues for as long as you wish and ensures you land a job that supports your recovery and professional growth.
Gaining skills and confidence
